DBA YLD Hosts Law Suit Days—Oct. 3–4
From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, Oct. 3 and 4, the DBA Young Lawyers Division will accept donations of gently used professional clothing, shoes, and accessories on the steps of the Denver City and County Building. Clothing should be clean and on hangers. The DBA YLD will not be able to pick up donations and is unable to accept donations on other dates. If the weather is bad, the donation site will be moved inside the City and County Building. For more information, please contact Heather Clark.
Access to Justice Hearing—Friday, Oct. 4
The DBA Access to Justice Committee will host the Denver hearing on Friday, Oct. 4 starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Ralph L. Carr Colorado Judicial Center. Light appetizers served starting at 4:30 p.m. The hearing is one of a series organized this fall by Colorado’s Access to Justice Commission in each of Colorado’s Congressional Districts to address challenges to equal access to our civil justice system in Colorado. DBA Seniors to Roast Bob Kapelke—Tuesday, Oct. 29
The DBA Seniors Committee will roast Bob Kapelke on Tuesday, Oct. 29, at the University Club. Cocktails begin at 5:15 p.m., with dinner at 6 p.m., and the roast will follow. Cost to attend is $45. Strikes for Tykes—Saturday, Nov. 16
Put on your bowling shoes and join the Denver Bar’s Community Action Network at Strikes for Tykes—a bowling benefit for the Children’s Outreach Project. This event will take place Saturday, Nov. 16, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Elitch Lanes, located at 3826 Tennyson in Denver. Cost is $35 for adults, $15 for children (12 and under), and $150 to buy your own lane. Click here to RSVP.
Yoga @ the Bar—Fridays at 6:30 a.m.—New Time

Denver Bike Social—Thursday, Oct. 3 at 5:30 p.m.
Cyclists will meet up at B-Station located at 1601 Platte St. in Denver. B-Cycle is a sponsor of this event and has generously offered free bike passes to anyone without a bike that day. Spinning CLE at the Denver Athletic Club with Judge Russell Carparelli—Thursday, Oct. 17 at 7:15 a.m.
Join us for the second round of the popular Spinning CLE class at the Denver Athletic Club. Judge Carparelli will discuss themes of diversity and inclusiveness in this ethics program that’s part of October Legal Professionalism Month as you sweat away on your stationary bike. This is a members-only event, and the cost to attend is $15. One ethics credit has been applied for. Flood Legal Relief—Volunteers Needed
The Joint Disaster Legal Services Task Force comprises the Colorado Bar Association, Colorado Legal Services, Colorado Trial Lawyers Association, Colorado Criminal Defense Bar, and several local bar associations. Earlier this week, the Task Force, in conjunction with FEMA and the American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, launched a website and helpline for victims of the floods. Denver School of Science and Technology at Green Valley Ranch Volunteers Needed
DSST (GVR) is a public, charter high school within Denver Public Schools. This school is seeking attorneys or firms near their school at 2800 Telluride St., Denver to host a ten-week project-based internship opportunity for their students. Projec- based internships represent a powerful opportunity for students to add capacity to firms by helping them with social media, office work, research, and special projects at no cost. This also represents an opportunity for earnest integration between Denver’s legal and education sectors to provide students powerful professional mentorship and technical training.
