Coffee Talk: The Components of a Great Appeal—Thursday, April 25
Lindy Frolich will talk about criminal appeals, which includes traditional briefing familiar to many attorneys, such as standards of review, legal issues, and argument. Gina Bischofs will discuss appeals in the dependency and neglect area with its expedited time frames, petitions on appeal, and condensed presentation of issues and legal argument. In addition, explore the use of electronic tools and its practical application to appeals. Applied for one general CLE credit. Enter Your Works in the Denver Lawyers Arts and Literature Contest—Tuesday, April 30
The submission period for the 2013 Denver Lawyers Arts & Literature Contest, sponsored by The Docket, has been extended to April 30. Put the finishing touches on your entries and send us your artwork and literature! Contest submission categories include: Writing—Fiction, Nonfiction, Poetry, and Humor; and Visual Arts—Painting (watercolors and oil/acrylic/mixed media), Drawing, Sculpture, and Photography. In all categories, the subject matter is open to the artist’s choice—no legal subject matter is required. Winners will be recognized in the September issue of The Docket. Download an entry form here.
