Richard Marden Davis Award Goes to Franz Hardy
Franz Hardy was presented the Richard Marden Davis Award at an event at the Brown Palace Hotel on Feb. 6. Each year, this prestigious award is given to a Denver lawyer under the age of 40 who combines excellence as a lawyer with creative civic, cultural, educational, and charitable leadership, as to best exemplify the character and promise of Richard Marden Davis. Hardy maintains a successful practice at Gordon & Rees, LLP. He participates in the legal community as President of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Colorado, and serves on the Center for Legal Inclusiveness Board of Directors and the University of Colorado Law School Alumni Board. Wee Give Children’s Charity Drive—Thursday, Feb. 21
Save your children’s clothes, strollers, cribs, car seats, and any other similar items for our annual donation drive. The DBA and CBA Young Lawyer Divisions are collecting donations for the local Wee Cycle charity, which gives necessary items to needy children and families across Colorado. If you are interested in having your firm participate as a drop-off center, please email Carlos Migoya. The drive will begin with a kickoff party at Katie Mullens at 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 21, which is being held in conjunction with DBA YLD’s Barristers After Hours, and will run through the month of March.

Be Recognized by the Colorado Supreme Court for Your Firm or In-house Counsel Group’s Pro Bono Achievement—Deadline Feb. 15
Each year, the Colorado Supreme Court recognizes those law firms, solo practitioners, and in-house counsel groups that achieved the annual goal of 50 hours of pro bono legal services by their Colorado-licensed attorneys—averaged across the firm and pro-rated for part-time attorneys—primarily for the indigent and/or organizations serving the indigent. If your firm or group achieved the pro bono goal in 2012, please notify Justice Greg Hobbs, c/o Law Clerk Lauren Dickey, at lauren.dickey@judicial.state.co.us or 720-625-5440, by Friday, Feb.15.
