5th Annual Law Day Art Contest—Get Your Children’s Schools Involved
The Law Day 2013 Art Contest is co-sponsored by the Denver Art Museum (DAM) and the Denver Bar Association. K–5 Denver Public School students are encouraged enter an illustration which represents the theme, “Realizing the Dream: Equality for All.” Winners will receive a $100 Target gift card and free admission to the DAM. Feel and Perform Better through Mindfulness Meditation—Saturday, Jan. 26
The Colorado Contemplative Lawyers Society, the Colorado Lawyers Assistance Program, and the Coloardo Bar Association invite you to a course in mindfulness meditation and practice. Feel and perform better in your professional life, enhance your ability to resolve stress, and deepen your emotional intelligence as you develop a meditation practice rooted in mindfulness. This introductory program, non-intrusive and non-threatening (no chanting!), will be held Saturday Jan. 26, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the CBA-CLE offices, 1900 Grant St., Suite 300. The 2013 Flu Outbreak: Risks and Ways to Prepare—Wednesday, Jan. 16
The influenza outbreak has reached epidemic proportions in the United States, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said Friday. The number of states reporting widespread activity rose from 41 to 47 in one week. Click here for a snapshot of flu activity by state. Agility Recovery is hosting a free webinar this Wednesday featuring Dr. Michael Jhung, lead medical officer in the CDC’s Influenza Division, who will update us on the current status of the outbreak and the severity throughout the nation. He will discuss how to reduce risk, prevent transmission of the virus, and maintain a healthy work environment.

Be Recognized by the Colorado Supreme Court for Your Firm or In-house Counsel Group’s Pro Bono Achievement, Deadline Feb. 15
Each year, the Colorado Supreme Court recognizes those law firms, solo practitioners, and in-house counsel groups that achieved the annual goal of 50 hours of pro bono legal services by their Colorado-licensed attorneys, averaged across the firm and pro-rated for part-time attorneys, primarily for the indigent and/or organizations serving the indigent. If your firm or group achieved the pro bono goal in 2012, please notify Justice Greg Hobbs, c/o Law Clerk Lauren Dickey, at lauren.dickey@judicial.state.co.us or 720-625-5440, by Friday, Feb.15.
