Pro Bono Week Elder Justice Training—Tuesday, Oct. 23
In celebration of Pro Bono Week, the DBA’s Access to Justice Committee is coordinating a CLE for attorneys interested in volunteering with Elder Justice Colorado, or who want to learn about issues facing Denver’s low-income senior population. EJCO will present a brief history and the importance of elder law, and areas of law often encountered by EJCO volunteers. Two CLE credits; cost is $59 for members, $69 for nonmembers, and reduced tuition for those who accept a pro bono case. RSVP to

Information Sought on Cases Handled By George Stivers Meyer
We are sad to announce that long-time Denver attorney George Stivers Meyer, registration number 8002, died unexpectedly in California last month while hiking in the Berkeley Hills with two friends from his childhood days. Recently, his practice has included plaintiff’s employment law cases, mental health defense, and guardian ad litem cases as Court Appointed Counsel for the Denver Probate Court. Because he was a sole practitioner, his Inventory Counsel, Terry Tomsick, Esq., is requesting that any attorney who had any open cases with Mr. Meyer to contact her so that she may assist you. Call for Judges—Thomas Tang Moot Court Competition
The Thomas Tang Moot Court competition returns to Colorado for the second year in a row! The regional competition will be held at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law on Saturday, Oct. 27. Judges are needed for the morning (9 a.m.–noon) and semi-final (1–2:30 p.m.) rounds, during which 10 teams will compete to advance to nationals. More than $10,000 is given in scholarships by the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association, and the competition is open to all current law students.
