Electronic Discovery for the Other 97% of Us–Bringing Proportionality Back into Discovery
If all you know about e-discovery comes from what you read in CLE program brochures, you would think every case involves millions of dollars, misconduct by one or both sides, and frustrated judges imposing draconian sanctions. But what about those cases that involve a single plaintiff with damages measured in five or six, not seven or eight figures? In this program, we will discuss the emerging body of law on proportionality, and offer practice tips for both plaintiff and defense counsel on how to make discovery both effective and reasoned. One CLE credit has been requested. Click here for more details and to RSVP.

From the CBA-CLE Legal Connection: Coach’s Corner—How Do You Increase Revenues?
Law is a business and planning is the first responsibility of a business owner. Business revenues will not increase without a plan to identify the desired outcome and define what is necessary to achieve it. Serendipity and whim are not surefire paths to revenue growth. A law firm must make plans and implement ways to increase its revenues to ensure success. Click here to read more.

From the Courts
Be Recognized by the Colorado Supreme Court for your Firm or In-house Counsel Group’s Pro Bono Achievement
Each year, the Supreme Court recognizes law firms and in-house counsel groups that commit to an annual goal of 50 hours of pro bono legal services per attorney, averaged across the firm each year for its licensed Colorado attorneys and pro-rated for part time attorneys, primarily for the indigent and nonprofit organizations that serve the indigent. It awards certificates signed by the justices to those firms and in-house counsel groups that achieved this goal in the previous calendar year and lists your firm or group on the judicial Web page. If your firm or in-house counsel group met the goal in calendar year 2011 or, if your firm or group would like to make the annual commitment starting in calendar year 2012, please e-mail Justice Gregory Hobbs by Feb. 15.
