Homeless Veterans Stand Down, Thursday, Nov. 3
Several shifts are available between 8 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. The Stand Down is an annual opportunity to provide legal information, options, and referrals to organizations for homeless veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces. Questions generally touch all areas of law. There are resource notebooks available onsite that provide legal information, including dates and locations of free clinics, along with referral options such as Colorado Legal Services and Child Support Enforcement. Please contact Carolyn Gravit to volunteer.

Collections Clinic Training, Monday, Oct. 24
Alison Daniels and Jennifer Levin will present a basic training for attorneys who are interested in teaching the pro se clinic and/or want a general understanding of the collection process. Presented from noon to 2 p.m. at CBA CLE offices, 1900 Grant St., Suite 300, two general CLE credits are available and the program can be attended in-person or viewed via webcast. Colorado GLBT Bar Association Presents Awards to Barton and Getches
Last week, the Colorado Gay Lesbian Bisexual and Transgender Bar Association held its Eighth Annual Awards Dinner. The evening drew allies from all across the Colorado legal community, including Senate President Brandon Shaffer and Colorado Supreme Court Justice Monica Márquez, to celebrate diversity and the progress of civil rights recognitions both locally and nationally. Dinner was followed by the presentation of the association’s 2011 Attorney and Ally Awards, which went to Mindy Barton and Posthumously to David Getches. Read more ...
