From the ABA Journal: ABA President-elect Bellows Calls for Cooperative Efforts on Legal Issues
In her first official address to the House of Delegates as ABA President-elect, Laurel G. Bellows, spoke about the strength of the organization during the Great Recession and the important lobbying role of the ABA’s policy-making body on lawmakers. Read more.
Also from the ABA Journal, the ABA House of Delegates voted today to adopt a resolution to urge law schools to more adequately prepare law students for the real-life experience of practicing law and bolster CLE training to better bridge the gap between law school and actual practice. Read more.
So Your Hotel Guest is Permitted to Use Medical Marijuana ...
Medical marijuana has been legal in Colorado since voters passed Amendment 20 in 2000. As of June 2011, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment had issued more than 125,000 ID cards under the Medical Marijuana Registry program. Many hotels and timeshare resorts are concerned that they could be subject to ADA liability for prohibiting a guest from smoking medical marijuana. Read more here.
