CLE Programs
Insolvent Estates: Administration of Decendents' Estates with Significant Liabilities, Feb. 3
During the economic downturn, it has been increasingly common for a decedent to die with significant debts. This program will cover issues that arise when the decedent's debts are significant in relation to the value of the estate and can exceed the value of the estate. Some of these estates involve minimal assets and no probate is required. In other cases, the assets may be substantial, but the debts are also substantial. In either case, these estates present a number of challenges. Learn from the experienced faculty on how they handle these complicated cases. Click here to find out more.
Quiet Title Actions: The Basics Plus Selected Advanced Topics, Feb. 9
Business Law, Family Law, Real Estate, and Trust and Estate attorneys can all benefit from this excellent program on the quiet title process. Experienced practitioners will walk you through the mechanics of the quiet title lawsuit and will review the more advanced issues when handling a quiet title case. From service of process and identification of the parties, to the most successful strategies in defending a quiet title action, you will learn the process to best serve your clients. Click here to find out more.
Transfer Tax Reform: The Impact of the Tax Relief, Unemployment Insurance Reauthorization, and Job Creation Act of 2010, Jan. 27
Five experienced attorneys will review the implications of this act passed in December 2010, including: Dealing with Estates of 2010 Decedents, Inter Vivos Planning, and GST Implications. The program will conclude with a Q&A panel and interactive discussion. Click here to find out more.
