***Bench and Bar Retreat CLE: “Choosing and Evaluating State Court Judges Here and Elsewhere,” Oct. 7
Come learn about how judges are selected, evaluated and retained in the Colorado state court system and how that system compares with the methods of selecting and evaluating judges in other states. The program is presented by former Colorado Supreme Court Justice Rebecca Kourlis. This lunchtime CLE program, which is being submitted for one hour of general CLE credit, will take place from Noon to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 7 in the Jury Assembly Room on the 4th floor of the Denver City and County Building, 1437 Bannock St., Denver. Some people may get one day dedicated just to them. Walter Gerash had March 3, 2005, dedicated to him for his long-time advocacy and service as an attorney, but the DBA Seniors Committee is offering him another. Join us for some good-natured razzing, great food and to toast Gerash's life and career. Roasters will be announced at a later date. The Seniors Committee Roast will begin at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 19, at the University Club, 1673 Sherman St.

***Donate to Law Suit Days, Oct. 21–22
The DBA Young Lawyers Division will accept donations on the steps of the Denver City and County Building, 1437 Bannock St., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. both days.
Donate gently used professional clothing, shoes, and accessories. Clothing should be clean and on hangers. Donations are only able to be accepted at the Denver City and County Building on the dates listed above. Donations will be given to Bayaud Enterprises. Bayaud Enterprises, Inc. is a local nonprofit that provides vocational training, job coaching, résumé building, and job placement services for individuals with physical, mental, and emotional disabilities, as well as to homeless or low-income individuals and families.
