*** DNC primer: Chilling Free Exercise — or Controlling the Streets?
During the DNC, Aug. 25-27, governmental actions intended to maintain order may or may not infringe fundamental rights of free speech and assembly. Hear both sides of the debate regarding public safety and civil remedies for alleged police misconduct on Friday, July 18, 12:15—1:30 p.m. at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. The $15 cost includes lunch. RSVP by Thursday, July 17 to Melissa Nicoletti at melissan@cobar.org or (303) 860-1115, ext. 727.

*** Run for the Legal Aid Foundation: Denver Marathon
Attention runners and sponsors! Participating in the Denver Marathon on Sunday, Oct. 19? Why not funnel your pledges to the Legal Aid Foundation of Colorado? Give new meaning to the term “swift justice” by supporting the foundation, which promotes equal access to justice by raising funds to provide civil legal services for low-income Coloradans. For a discount online registration code or for more information, contact Diana Poole at (303) 863-9544 or diana@legalaidfoundation.org

Judges will speak with attorneys in a roundtable format about improving one’s quality of life as an attorney. The event is on Saturday, Sept. 27, 8:30 a.m. - noon at the Warwick Hotel, 1776 Grant St. The cost is $60, including breakfast.
