Nancy Elkind, of Stern & Elkind, will give an update and cover what you need to know in the immigration arena. One general credit requested.

*** Jan. 17: Lunch with a Judge — Workers’ Compensation Update
Join Judge Thomas DeMarino, administrative law judge from the Division of Workers’ Compensation, for an update on workers’ compensation. One general credit requested.

*** Jan. 24: How to Avoid Attorney Regulation
John Gleason, regulation counsel, Office of Attorney Regulation, will provide tips on how to avoid getting grieved. One ethics credit requested.

*** Jan. 31: Adobe Acrobat, Including Scanning
Find out how to use and make the most of Adobe Acrobat. This session will include “how to’s” on scanning documents. One general credit requested.

*** Wednesday, Jan. 25: DBA YLD Coffee Talk — The Energy Policy Act of 2005
The Energy Policy Act of 2005 repealed the Public Utility Holding Company Act, which placed restrictions on acquisitions of utilities and energy companies. The program will cover: How this repeal will impact the ownership structure of energy companies, investment in such companies and energy consumers; Key issues in FERC’s PUHCA repeal rulemaking; How the PUHCA repeal will impact day-to-day energy regulation and transactions; What new regulatory structures, if any, are needed. Join colleagues from 8 to 9 a.m. at 1900 Grant St., Ste. 900. The cost is only $5 for DBA members and $15 for non-members. Continental breakfast included. RSVP by sending a check to DBA Coffee Talk. One general credit has been requested.
