*** Get Involved with the DBA’s Mock Trial Tournament
The DBA will host its regional mock trial tournament on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 10–11, at the Denver City & County Courthouse. Attorney and paralegal volunteers are needed to serve as scoring panelists, and current, retired or former magistrates and judges are needed to serve as presiding judges. Volunteer for one or more rounds (four hours per round). To sign up, go to http://www.denbar.org/group/index.cfm?category=2027&EntityID=DBA.

*** New CLE Series
In 2006, CBA–CLE will present a new series of programs for paralegals and other legal professionals. Throughout the year, CLE will present six full-day programs and six “Monday Motivator” lunch programs at the CBA, 3rd floor classroom. If there are programs you would like to see offered, or if you are interested in speaking at a program, contact Kathi M. Legge at (303) 824-5383 or klegge@cobar.org.

*** Flying Dog Brewery Tour
Save the date! The DBA YLD is sponsoring an event on Feb. 16, 6–9 p.m., to benefit the Legal Center for People with Disabilities and Older People. Gather at the Blake Street Tavern, 2401 Blake St., to enjoy a brewery tour, tasting of draft beer, live music and a silent auction. Advance tickets are $25, and include the tour, tasting, two draft beers and appetizers. Request tickets by e-mailing lunches@cobar.org.

*** Cross-Examination Techniques and Strategies from Larry Pozner and Roger Dodd
Discover an entirely new way to try a case — one that integrates cross-examination with every step of the trial process. Through practical examples, you will learn how to phrase questions to block witness evasions, create fact-sensitive sequences of questions, psychologically dominate hostile witnesses, compel admissions on key points of your cross, and use a hostile witness’ own words to create devastating cross-examination. Register online: Killer Cross-Examination, Dec. 14, 2005.

*** CBA–CLE Publications (order online!):
