*** Last Minute Call for Volunteers
The DBA is looking for attorney and paralegal volunteers to help guide Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School students around the Denver City and County Building this Wednesday and Thursday. Each tour will begin at 9:30 a.m. and will end around noon. No experience necessary! A guidebook is available. Contact Carolyn Gravit at or (303) 824-5323.

*** Don’t Miss the Bench-Bar Retreat
The DBA’s Annual Bench-Bar Retreat will be Oct. 21, 8:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m., at the Inverness Hotel. The topic will be: “Mending Justice.”

*** 2006 Employment Law Conference
CBA–CLE's Annual Employment Law Conference is back! This annual conference is the most comprehensive of its kind in the Rocky Mountain Region and features the most current hot topics, important updates and actual practice advice. Come to the Adam's Mark Hotel to visit with colleagues and learn from experienced, knowledgeable faculty. If you attend one employment law seminar this year, this is the one! It is the 40th Anniversary of Metro Volunteer Lawyers. Join the celebration on Oct. 12, between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. for “Thursday Night at the Bar.” The event will be held at the DBA offices, 1900 Grant St., 9th floor. Enjoy food, drinks and a silent auction to benefit MVL. Colorado Supreme Court Justice Gregory Hobbs will make a presentation in honor of the occasion. *** Wine Fiesta
Don’t forget to get your tickets to the 13th annual Wine & Beer Tasting to benefit Legal Aid Foundation of Colorado. Held in collaboration with the DBA’s Young Lawyers Division, this year’s Latin-Flavored Fiesta will be Wednesday, Oct. 18, 5:30–7:30 p.m., at La Rumba (99 W. 9th Ave.). *** Law Suit Days
The annual “Law Suit Days” are Oct. 12–13. Members of the Young Lawyers Division will be accepting donations on the steps of the City and County Building, 1437 Bannock St., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., each day. Donate gently used professional clothing to help low-income and unemployed community members dress-to-impress for job interviews. Contact David Uhlig at with any questions.

Justice Rovira is the honoree of the DBA Seniors Roast, which will be Wednesday, Oct. 25, 6–9 p.m. at the Warwick Hotel, 1776 Grant St. Celebrate his career (and give him a hard time).
