June 20 is “The USA PATRIOT Act: Broader than You Think” with Steve Posner; and June 27 is “Appellate Practice Primer: The Nuts and Bolts of Perfecting an Appeal, and Writing a Persuasive Brief” with Anthony Viorst. This CBA–CLE full-day course is designed for the attorney who has limited experience with accounting principles and financial statements. Topics will include: Basic Concepts of Accounting; Examining a Financial Statement; How to Analyze the Financial Statement; Common Manipulative Accounting Practices; and Special Reporting Issues with Financial Statements. Calling all runners: The Legal Aid Foundation of Colorado has been selected as an official charity of the new Denver Marathon, scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 15. The Foundation is looking for runners who want to participate in this world-class event (whether in the marathon, half-marathon, or four-person marathon relay) and raise money for legal services in the process.
