*** 50 Years at the Same Bar
Save the date to honor DBA members who became lawyers in 1957. The Senior Spring Banquet is Wednesday, May 9, 6 p.m., at the Warwick Hotel. Lawyers of all ages are invited to honor these 25 accomplished attorneys. Honorees include: Peter Adolph, Donald Burkhardt, Mackintosh Brown, James Bye, George Christiansen, Roger Cisneros, John Conway, Kermit Darkey, Warwick Downing, Richard Eason, J. Michael Farley, Norton Frickey, Garth Grissom, William Huff, Isaac Kaiser, Norman Markman, Hugh McClearn, Robert Meer, William Murane, Charles E. Rhyne, James Seccombe, Roger Simon, Rahe Von Hoene, Richard Wohlgenant, Lester Woodward. If you were left off of the list, contact Mindy Marks at mmarks@cobar.org or (303) 824-5312. More details to follow.

*** DBA–CLE Programs
Get organized and get things done! Practical Time Management for Lawyers, presented by national speaker Irwin Karp, is one great program conveniently presented two times — Feb. 22, 9 a.m.–12:15 p.m. or 1:15–4:30 p.m. Learn how to take control of your workload, manage your busy schedule, focus on priorities, meet deadlines with less stress, and make your workday more productive. For more information, call (303) 860-0608, toll-free (888) 860-2531 or register online at A.M. Program or P.M. Program.

*** Teach a Small Claims or Collections Clinic
The DBA is seeking volunteers to teach lunch-time Small Claims and/or Collections Pro Se Clinics for the public at Denver County Court. These clinics are designed to help people file small claims and collection actions in court. The clinics cover alternatives to filing, the process of filing a small claim, and how to prepare and present a case to the judge. These clinics offer legal information, not legal advice. Outline and training provided. Contact Carolyn at cgravit@cobar.org or call (303) 824-5323.

*** Ride for Justice
More law firms have joined the list of sponsors for the “Wheels of Justice” cycling team, which will participate in the Courage Classic Bike Tour — a beautiful three-day, 160-mile bike ride through the Rocky Mountains, July 21–23. Last year, the team raised more than $130,000 for the Children’s Hospital Foundation. Lend your support by riding or sponsoring a rider or team. For more information, contact Ingrid Heiser, iheiser@cobar.org or (303) 824-5327, or Heather Purcell, (303) 991-2641 or hpurcell@levinepurcell.com.

*** There’s Still Time to Run (or Walk) the Register!
The DBA will have a team, “Lung Time No Sue,” for the “Run the Register” fundraiser on Feb. 25. You can sign up for the event — a trek up 47 flights to the top of the Wells Fargo Building — at www.runtheregister.com, under the DBA team name. Proceeds benefit the American Lung Association.
