*** Spring Gift Baskets
The DBA–YLD has teamed up with Denver Human Services to help provide spring gift baskets to needy children, elderly and disabled adults. The baskets will be filled with candy, plastic eggs, children's books, toys and other items to help people enjoy the springtime. To participate, drop off completed gift baskets, items for the baskets, and/or cash donations (checks can be made payable to "The Sara Brown Fund") to the DBA offices by March 20. *** Wine and Cheese Networking Event April 14 
The Hispanic National Bar Association Law Student Division and the Latino Law Student Associations are sponsoring a wine and cheese tasting networking event on Saturday, April 14, from 1:30 to 4 p.m., at Parisi, 4401 Tennyson St., in Denver. Tickets will be $60 at the door, $40 beforehand. For students, tickets will be $10. Proceeds from the event will go toward LLSA activities at The University of Denver Sturm College of Law and the University of Colorado Law School, as well as LLSA participation in HNBA activities. *** CJI Judicial Independence Breakfast
Former Colorado Supreme Court Justice Rebecca Love Kourlis will deliver the keynote address at the Colorado Judicial Institute’s breakfast on Thursday, April 12, 7:30–8:30 a.m. at the University Club, 1673 Sherman St., in Denver. The program, “Judicial Selection Across the Nation: A Time for Change” will provide a national overview of current information regarding judicial selection, including movements in certain states toward merit selection. *** Making the Impossible Possible
