Trust Account Basics CLE—Thursday, Nov. 20
Join us for an overview of trust account basics. Reba Nance will explain the difference between various types of trust accounts, what recordkeeping is required by the rules, and practical tips to manage your trust account so you don’t come to the attention of attorney regulation! Welcome to My World: the Life Cycle of a Judge—Tuesday, Dec. 2
Join the DBA Bench and Bar Committee on Tuesday, Dec. 2 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the DBA offices for a CLE panel presentation on the life cycle of a judge. Topics include: ideal careers and experiences for those attorneys whose ambition is to possibly become a judge down the road; the judicial application process; judges speaking out about how and why they became a judge; how life changed when they did; and how they plan to transition to the afterlife. Strikes for Tykes—Saturday, Dec. 6
Put on your bowling shoes and join the DBA’s Community Action Network at Strikes for Tykes—a bowling benefit for the Children’s Outreach Project. The Colorado Poverty Law Project
The Colorado Poverty Law Project, a DBA sponsored project, is developing an Eviction Pilot Program with the help of the Denver County Court Self-Help Center. There will be a training session Dec. 4 at Kutak Rock LLP offices from 5:30–6:30 p.m., with cocktails at 5 p.m. The training will include an overview of landlord-tenant law, forcible entry and detainer procedures, and common ways to represent tenants in presenting meritorious defenses. Eviction cases and provide excellent courtroom experience. RSVP
