Residential Construction Defect Law Update 2014—Wednesday, August 6
The program will highlight recent liability, damages, and insurance developments as discussed in Residential Construction Law in Colorado, 4th Ed. (CLE-CBA) authored by Ronald M. Sandgrund, Scott F. Sullan, and Leslie A. Tuft. A copy of the book is included with the course materials, along with a summary list of significant, recent cases. 6th Annual Elder Law Retreat in Vail—August 21–23
Now in its sixth year, the Elder Law Retreat continues to grow and provide an outstanding program taught by leading elder law professionals, in a beautiful mountain setting. Volunteer Opportunities

We Know You Don’t Read your E-mails—How About Reading to Children?
The Denver Lawyers and Schools Committee is teaming up with Reading Partners, a national education nonprofit dedicated to improving students’ reading skills. Volunteers are needed to work one-on-one with students at various locations in the Denver area. There are three volunteer opportunities for our members: Fill in as a tutor when needed, volunteer once a month with a team of four volunteers, or step in the school twice a week. The committee will be hosting two, one-hour trainings on Wednesday, Aug. 20, at 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Please RSVP to Meghan Bush if interested in getting involved.

Family Law Attorneys Needed at School Supply Backpack Handout—Saturday, August 6
Family law attorneys are needed to staff a general legal help table at the DBA CAN annual school supply drive backpack handout on Saturday, August 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will be held at Presbyterian St. Luke’s. RSVP to Alexa Drago if you are interested.
