Colorado Supreme Court Chief Justice Michael Bender, with the support of the Colorado Bar Association, has declared October Legal Professionalism Month in Colorado. The aim of the month is to encourage members of the legal profession, professional entities, and judicial offices and staff to rededicate themselves to demonstrating the highest standards of professionalism and integrity, and promote public confidence in the profession and the court system.
To commemorate the month, the Colorado Supreme Court will hold an assembly of lawyers on Monday, Nov. 4, and a special session of the Court to welcome newly admitted attorneys to the practice. The program will begin at 2 p.m. at the Boettcher Concert Hall, followed by the fall admission ceremony at 3:30 p.m. For more events, visit cobar.org/professionalism.
Denver Bike Social
The DBA bike social will be held on Thursday, Oct. 3, starting at 5:30 p.m. Cyclists will meet at B-Station located at 1601 Platte St. in Denver. B-Cycle is a sponsor of this event and has generously offered free bike passes to anyone without a bike that day. DBA YLD Hosts Law Suit Days
From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, Oct. 3 and 4, the DBA Young Lawyers Division will accept donations of gently used professional clothing, shoes, and accessories on the steps of the Denver City and County Building. Clothing should be clean and on hangers. The DBA YLD will not be able to pick up donations and cannot accept donations on other dates. Spinning CLE at the Denver Athletic Club

Gear Up for Lawyers’ League Basketball
The Lawyers’ Basketball League will kick off its 2013 season in January, and will be held at the University of Denver Hamilton Gym. The expected team entry fee will range from $600 to $700. The DBA Access to Justice Committee will host the Denver hearing on Friday, Oct. 4 starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Ralph L. Carr Colorado Judicial Center.
