The Denver Foundation honored former Colorado Bar Association President Fredrick K. “Jerry” Conover with its 2010 Philanthropic Leadership Award in November. Conover helped found Hope for Generations, a Denver Foundation fund for early childhood development, in 2002. In the past five years, the fund has awarded more than $500,000 for this purpose. The Philanthropic Leadership Award is awarded annually to a person in the legal or finance community who helps guide others in making philanthropic decisions.
Paul Chan, former Denver Bar Association President and current Colorado Bar Association President, has been named a trustee of the Boettcher Foundation. Chan, who is general counsel for the University of Denver, is an alumnus of the Boettcher Foundation Scholarship Program. He is the first former Boettcher scholar to be named a trustee of the foundation.
Former Chief Justice Mary Mullarkey was awarded the Distinguished Judicial Leadership Award from the Colorado Judicial Institute at its annual Judicial Excellence for Colorado Dinner on Nov. 18. Mullarkey was
honored for her efforts to improve the administration of justice; develop a statewide case management system; establish e-filing systems for trial courts and develop the Colorado Integrated Criminal Justice Information System, which allows criminal justice agencies to track offenders through the legal system.
