Medical Marijuana Issues Facing Colorado in 2011. On Jan. 14, hear Colorado’s Medical Marijuana practitioners and regulators address: Proposed Colorado Department of Revenue Medical Marijuana Regulations; What the Medical Marijuana Industry Must Do to Comply with the New Regulations; Points of Conflict—Meshing New Medical Marijuana Law with Existing Criminal Law; Handling the Defense of Medical Marijuana Investigations and Regulatory Citations; Colorado Physicians Making Medical Marijuana Recommendations: Current State of the Law; and Ethics in the Practice of Medical Marijuana Law in Colorado.

3rd Annual Private Equity Conference. Equity and debt markets that have been substantially frozen since the fall of 2008 have begun to thaw. Valuations across asset classes have stabilized and started to rise. New funds are being raised and financial and strategic buyers are becoming more active again. Private equity deals may have changed shape from earlier years, but they are helping to drive the investment markets again. 40-Hour Mediation Training, Instructed by Judy Mares-Dixon. Judy Mares-Dixon, M.A., has worked in the conflict resolution field since 1986 as a trainer, mediator, coach, facilitator, consultant, and dispute resolution systems designer in the United States, Canada, Germany, Australia, and New Zealand. Receive 40 hours of training from her Jan. 17–19 and Jan. 24–25. She mediates contract disputes, collective bargaining agreements, sexual harassment, ADA, and other EEO complaints. She also mediates grievances, organizational conflicts, conflicts involving cross-cultural issues, and public policy disputes.


Mock Trial Kicks Off Spring

The Denver Regional High School Mock Trial Tournament is Feb. 11 and 12 at the Denver City and County Building. Two teams will advance to the state tournament held at Adams County Justice Center on March 11 and 12. DBA members are invited to score or judge one or more rounds.
