Haiti donation from Colorado’s legal community total surpasses $110K

American Red Cross Mile High Chapter representative Anastasia Darwish (second from left) ceremoniously accepts her organizations’ portion of the $110,885 donated Jan. 29 toward Haiti relief from the Colorado legal community, generated by leaders including (left to right) Colorado Bar Association President Dave Johnson, Colorado Defense Lawyers Association President Scott Landry, Colorado Trial Lawyers Association Executive Director John Sadwith, Association of Corporate Counsel Colorado Chapter Pro Bono Chair Marcela Mendoza and Sam Cary Bar Association President Dan Muse. The legal community responded generously after the devastating earthquake Jan. 12 in Haiti. This effort will be continued by the new Bench and Bar Society of the Red Cross Mile High Chapter, which is accepting founding members through April 13. Temporary Relocation of the Colorado Supreme Court Library

On Monday, April 19, the Colorado Supreme Court Library will makes its temporary move to the first floor of the Denver News Paper Agency building, located at 101 West Colfax Avenue. The library will occupy that space for approximately three years, until the Ralph L. Carr Justice Complex opens in 2013 on the block between 13th and 14th avenues, bounded by Lincoln and Broadway streets. The library will make every accommodation possible.
