DBA Trustee Annie T. Kao, a trial attorney with Hogan & Hartson, was recently elected and installed on Nov. 21 as secretary of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association at its annual convention in Boston, Mass.

Michael O’Donnell, chairman of the civil litigation firm Wheeler Trigg?O’Donnell, was?named?chairman of the Colorado State Committee of the American College of Trial Lawyers for the second consecutive year.

Folkstead Fazekas Barrick & Patoile announces that Aaron W. Barrick was appointed as the State Judge Advocate General of Colorado. In addition to his position at the firm, Col. Barrick serves as senior counsel to the Adjutant General, with authority over all legal reservists of the state military forces.

Sarah L. Golombek of Solem, Mack & Steinhoff was elected to the executive council of the Colorado Bar Association Elder Law Section.

Dennis Kaw, a trial attorney with Fisher, Sweetbaum, Levin & Sands, was elected to the Asian Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors.

The National Federation of Paralegal Associations selected Holland & Hart’s Debra Hindin-King as the organization’s 2009 Paralegal of the Year.

Hyatt Farber Schreck announces the following: Ericka F. Houck Englert, an associate, was named to the Colorado Organization on Adolescent Pregnancy, Parenting and Prevention Board of Directors; Gregory W. Berger, a shareholder, was named to the Cherry Creek Schools Foundation Board of Directors; Richard Benenson, a shareholder, was named to the Denver Drug Strategy Commission; and Tal Diamant, a shareholder, was named to the Colorado Agency for Jewish Education Board of Directors.


Siddhartha Rathod of the Colorado Public Defender’s Office was selected to receive the 2009 Gary McPherson Outstanding Young Lawyer Award.

Kutak Rock announces that Barry A. Burns, Anthony W. Epps, Ryan T. Jardine and Blair E. Kanis joined the firm as associates. They join the finance, conduit finance, corporate and litigation practice groups respectively.

Semple, Miller, Mooney & Farrington congratulates its longtime partner, Patrick B. Mooney, on joining Intermountain Rural Electric Association as deputy general manager and general counsel. The new name of the firm is Semple, Farrington & Everall

Senn Visciano announces that colleague Joel Rosenstein added his name to the firm. The new name is Senn Visciano Rosenstein.

Davis Graham & Stubbs announces that David A. Zisser, a litigator specializing in defending individuals and companies against allegations of financial irregularities, joined the firm’s trial group.

Albert Brenman, 83, passed away on Nov. 8. He was a lifetime member of the CBA and DBA and was active in the business and securities law sections until his retirement in 2003. He was a 1953 graduate of DU Sturm College of Law and an active member of the DU Law Alumni Association.



 Haines Wedding

Julie Haines and Seth Warren married in Beaver Creek on Nov. 7. Haines, a 2000 DU Sturm College of Law graduate, is a partner at Kennedy Childs and Fogg. Warren is an engineer and territorial manager with Stonhard. The couple honeymooned in French Polynesia and are living in Monument.
