Award from the American Bar Association Judicial Division National Conference of Specialized Court Judges.


Harper Lutz Zuber Hofer & Associates announced that Yvonne Englard Zuber was appointed by Colorado Governor Bill Ritter to serve on the Colorado Child Support Commission.


Kelly Reynoldson
of Kutak Rock was named to the Board of Directors of Friendship Bridge. The firm also announced that Frederic Marienthal was named to the Board of Directors of Thistle Communities.


Brian Bernhard
, legal services manager at Stern Elkind Curray & Alterman, was named to the Board of Directors of the International Paralegal Management Association as the vice president of membership.

Victoria L. Hellmer, a shareholder in the real estate practice group at Otten Johnson, was elected to the Board of Trustees of the Denver Public Library Friends Foundation.


Rothgerber Johnson & Lyons partner James M. Lyons was appointed Ireland’s Honorary Consul in the Denver Metropolitan area by Ireland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs.

ABA Family Law Section named Kathy Hogan as editor-in-chief of the "Family Advocate," the ABA FLS quarterly magazine.

named to the American Cancer Society’s Peer Review


Committee for DNA Mechanisms in Cancer. Andrew L. Meyers, shareholder, was named to the Board of Trustees of the Clayton Foundation. Also, Jason R. Dunn, an attorney with the firm, was elected vice chairman of the Colorado Competitive Council.




After nearly 50 years practicing law, 40 of them in Denver, John D. Phillips announced his retirement from the Polsinelli Shughart. Phillips has worked as a general commercial litigator focusing on malpractice claims, representing both the plaintiff and defense.

Miletich Pearl announced that Natalie M. Lucas joined the firm as an associate. Her practice focuses on insurance defense, insurance coverage and employment litigation.


The Mintz Law Firm announced the recent hiring of attorney Brett A. Buchheit.

Harper Lutz Zuber Potenza & Associates changed its name to Harper Lutz Zuber Hofer & Associates. The name change reflects the addition of Preston L. Hofer as a member of the firm specializing in tax advisory services, litigation consulting, corporate restructuring and business valuations.


The public finance law firm of Peck, Shaffer & Williams announced that Everett B. Martínez joined the firm as an associate.

Poulson, Odell & Peterson announced that Elizabeth A. Dawson joined the firm as an associate. Her practice is in natural resources law, natural resources litigation, oil and gas and land use law.

The Rietz Law Firm announced that Brian A. Birenbach joined the firm.

Kevin Taylor and Brent Anderson announced the formation of Taylor Anderson. The firm focuses on efficient and effective trial of significant claims.

John Zakhem announced the formation of Zakhem Law, with attorneys Matt Cassady and John L Skari Jr..


Sheridan Ross announced that James M. Burke and Hiwot A. Molla joined the firm as associates.

Attorney Ken Fellman of Kissinger & Fellman moved into the position as president of the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors.

William Garehime joined Fennemore Craig as an associate. He will work in the areas of business torts and personal injury.

GCR, a corporate and public law firm, is merging with the law practices and taking the name of Mastin Law Firm to form its second largest office, focusing on the education, government and corporate sectors.

Gifford Stevens announced that Cynthia Lowery joined the firm as an associate.

Jeff Bergstrom and Lisa Culpepper joined Grimshaw & Harring as special counsel. Bergstrom practices in the areas of business, real estate and tax transactions. Culpepper practices in the areas of real estate, business, commercial law and state and local taxation.



Holme Roberts & Owen
announced the formation of Holme Roberts & Owen Solicitors in Dublin, Ireland. HRO is the first U.S. law firm to open an office in Ireland.

The law firm of Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck announced that Brian Eutermoser and Austin E. Smith joined the firm as associates in the litigation department.

The offices of Willoughby & Eckelberry moved to a new suite: 303 E. 17th Ave., Suite 910 (formerly Suite 810), Denver, CO 80203. Phones and fax lines remain the same.


Donald J. Masters, Jr. passed way Aug. 31 at the age of 63. He was a member of the CBA, DBA and the business law and bankruptcy sections.

Samuel R. Freeman, 80, passed away Aug. 28. He was a lifetime member of the CBA and DBA.
