DBA–CLE December

Colorado Corporate Practice Conference is Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, Dec. 10, 11, and 12, 9 a.m.–4:30 p.m. The conference will feature of six, half-day programs focused on the issues that directly affect the practices of business law attorneys. From mergers and acquisitions, to employment law, to legal ethics, there is something here for everyone! Attend in person or by live Internet webcast. When you register for one, two or three individual programs, you will get a discounted individual program tuition rate. When you register for four or more programs, you get an even better package deal on your tuition. This event is co-sponsored by the CBA Business Law Section. Tuition for individual programs is $109 for legal support staff; $109 for new lawyers (in first two years of practice); $139 for Business Law Section members; $159 for DBA members; $179 for nonmembers. When you register for four, five or six programs, the package price tuition is $429 for legal support staff; $429 for new lawyers (in first two years of practice); $549 for Business Law Section members; $619 for DBA members; $699 for nonmembers. Each program is submitted for three CLE credits.

Commercial Damages: From Engagement to Trial is Thursday, Dec. 18, 8:25 a.m.–4:45 p.m. The program will use a case-study format of a claim for commercial damages relating to a medical equipment design and manufacturing entity. A select group of attorneys and Business Valuation and Forensic Litigation Service experts will present throughout the program, beginning with a discussion of the engagement considerations through discovery and ending with commentary from a judicial view. Tuition is $209 for Litigation Section members; $209 for CPA Society members; $239 for DBA members; $279 for nonmembers. Eight general credits.

Private Equity: Down But Not Out, Waiting for the Next Opportunity is Friday, Dec. 19, 8 a.m.–4:15 p.m. This program will discuss the changes to private equity deals and what to do with the old ones. Private equity opportunities and deals are not dead. Now, they come in a different form and opportunity. Come and find opportunities opened in distressed assets and debts. Discover new players, new opportunities and new structures in the game. Presented by private equity executives, investment bankers and experienced private equity attorneys. Tuition is $209 for new attorneys (in first two years of practice); $229 for Business Law Section members, IP Law Section members and Real Estate Section members; $249 for DBA members; $200 for nonmembers. Tutors Needed

David Bost runs a tutoring program for inner-city children attending Dora Moore Elementary School (9th and Corona in Denver). The program provides one-on-one assistance to second through fifth graders in reading, writing and math each Tuesday evening of the school year, beginning at 6 p.m. Each tutor is assigned one child for the school year. The Community Action Network (CAN) of the Denver Bar Association is sponsoring the Seventh Annual Toothbrushes for Tots Drive, to benefit Kids in Need of Dentistry (KIND).
