The Colorado Hispanic Bar Association awarded associate Jerome De Herrera of Arnold & Porter with the Outstanding New Hispanic Lawyer Award for 2007. De Herrera achieved this goal by demonstrating a strong commitment to the Hispanic community and the principles of the legal profession. The award was presented to him at the Colorado Hispanic Bar Association’s Annual Banquet on Jan. 26. Kenneth L. Levinson’s eBook, A Shadow In The Night, available at http://www.uncialpress.com and http://www.amazon.com, has been selected as a finalist in the mystery category for the 2008 EPPIE awards.

Dick Holme of Davis Graham & Stubbs was appointed to the Colorado Supreme Court Nominating Commission by Chief Justice Mary J. Mullarkey. David L. Erickson’s book on the early Colorado Bar, 1858-1920, is being published by the Colorado Bar Association CLE and will be out this spring. It took David five years to complete the research and write the book.

Mark W. Williams, a member of the Litigation Practice Group at Sherman & Howard, has been awarded the professional designation of Master Advocate by the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA), that organization’s highest distinction. DECEASED Robert Holt, 50, a Denver attorney who was one of the first lawyers in the nation to represent HIV patients as well as people with disabilities in the workplace, died of a heart attack Dec. 16.
