Diversity a MUST!

Top center: DBA President Elsa Martinez Tenreiro,
who spoke at the Diversity Conference on Sept. 20.

The 2007 Diversity Conference held on Sept. 20 proved to be a success as panelists discussed programs implemented within their organizations that have worked and failed, and the lessons learned. Participants left with an understanding of the value of a diversity professional within an organization. They came away from this session with valuable tools for implementing their own diversity program in their organization.

Professionalism in the Courtroom

On Sept. 20, the Bench-Bar Committee held its first in a series of brown-bag lunches this year. The event was entitled "Professionalism in the Courtroom: What Judges Expect from Lawyers," and the response was tremendous with nearly 100 people, including several judges in the audience. The Committee specifically wishes to thank the three panelists (pictured above): Denver District Court judges Hon. Christina Habas (right), Hon. Shelley Gilman (left) and Hon. Martin Egelhoff (center). It also wishes to thank the event attendees for their active and enthusiastic participation in the discussion, which made for an informative and educational session for both the judges and lawyers.
