The Legal Aid Foundation’s 13th Annual Wine Tasting, held at La Rumba on Oct. 18, was a great success. More than 200 people enjoyed the festive music of the La Candela Quartet while sampling excellent food and drink, participating in the silent auction, and mingling with colleagues. More than $9,000 was raised for legal services and, through collaboration with the DBA’s Young Lawyers Division, the event attracted a host of young, upcoming leaders in the Denver legal community. The Foundation salutes the DBA YLD and all the young lawyers who attended for fostering the Colorado tradition of commitment to meeting the legal needs of the poor.

The Foundation would like to thank all those who contributed to the success of the event, particularly contributors to the auction and event sponsors. Sponsoring at the Cabernet level were Cordes & Company, Hunter + Geist, Inc. and Rossi Legal Staffing. Sponsors at the Reisling level were Ginsburg Cohen & Company and Paralegal Resource Center. The Foundation also would like to thank the caterers who generously donated their wares: Larimer Street Express Catering, Nancy’s Lifestyle Catering, and That Personal Touch Catering.

A special thank-you goes to the wine store, Above the Rim, 1936 Pennsylvania St., which did a wonderful job coordinating the wine selection for the third year running. Above the Rim supports legal services throughout the year by donating to the Foundation 10 percent of the proceeds of any sales from the Foundation’s network of supporters. Their hard work and commitment to legal services made it all happen.
