Battle for the Boot
At the Fourth Annual Battle for the Barrister’s Boot, DU alumni will try to win back the boot (trophy), while CU alumni hope to retain the glory and prestige the boot brings. The battle will provide vital funding for scholarship programs. This year’s tournament is June 5, 1 p.m., at the Pinehurst Country Club, 6255 W. Quincy Ave. There is not a requirement to have a CU or DU law school alumnus on your team; however, each foursome must designate in advance one of the schools for trophy purposes. Date Change for CDLA and CTLA Golf Tournament
The Colorado Defense Lawyers Association will host its annual golf challenge on June 14 at Fossil Trace Golf Course. In years past, the CDLA and the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association have honored a member of the other organization for professionalism. This year, the two groups will honor recently deceased Jim Hinga for his longtime commitment to mediation and resolution of cases. In Jim Hinga’s memory, the CDLA has made a contribution to the Timothy P. Schimberg Scholarship Fund. The scholarship recognizes and assists minority students in Colorado who are attending law school in Colorado full time.
