Colorado Institutes Cap on Attorneys by Stacy Chesney ![]() In an unprecedented move by the Colorado Supreme Court, the number of lawyers allowed to practice law in the state has been restricted to 21,000. Effective May 17, 2006 (the date of the next swearing-in ceremony), for every new attorney license granted, the oldest license will be cancelled.
