Barristers Benefit Ball

Each year, selected attorneys are honored at the Denver Bar Foundation’s Barristers Benefit Ball for their extraordinary efforts and dedication to pro bono legal services.

The 2006 Honorees:

Adam DeVoe

Adam DeVoe has been an MVL attorney since 2000. He has taken on nine cases while also working as an associate with Brownstein, Hyatt & Farber in Denver. Devoe primarily works on family law and landlord/tenant cases, but also has been willing to take on other types of cases.

Scott Ellis

Scott Ellis has been with MVL since 2001. Ellis has taken on 14 cases. Ellis comes to Adams County Family Law Court Program every month for the entire day. He not only helps with Permanent Orders, but also helps clients prepare initial paperwork and financial affidavits. Ellis works for the federal government on a flex-time schedule and uses one of his two days off each month to participate in FLCP. He provides individual representation in FLCP cases that become too complicated for the program.

Elizabeth Thomas

Elizabeth Thomas began her work with MVL in 2003. Thomas has had 42 cases since March 2004. She took more than 10 bankruptcy referrals right before the October 2005 deadline. On short notice, Thomas took over a family law case that another attorney could no longer work on because of a change in employment.
