Working With the Media
Come to a FREE CLE-accredited program and take away tips on how to deal with the media and develop your own sound bite.
Learn how to get what you want from the media on Sept. 25 from 9 a.m. to noon. Call Diane Hartman to register at (303) 824-5312 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Repeat programs will be offered on Oct. 23 and Nov. 20.
The annual “Law Suit Day,” sponsored by the Young Lawyers Division, will be taking donations at the steps of the City and County Building, 1437 Bannock St., from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Oct. 1 and 2. Donate any gently used professional clothing to help low-income and unemployed community members dress-to-impress for job interviews. If you have any questions, contact Megan Brynhildsen at MeganB@THLAW.NET.
DBA Mock Trials
The CBA Law Education Committee has begun planning for the 2004 mock trial season and is looking for DBA members to volunteer for this civics educational program. Denver teams need DBA members to serve as coaches or mentors, providing legal information and expertise for students as they prepare for cases. If you are interested in developing a mock trial team with a local high school, or have questions about volunteering or the competitions, contact Carolyn Ferber at (303) 824-5323 or email@example.com.
Metro Volunteer Lawyers has unveiled a new Web site. The site gives attorneys and potential clients a detailed description of what MVL is all about. The process, eligibility guidelines, Family Law Court Program, contact information and news highlights can all be found at the new site. Information about volunteering is also on the site.
