DENVER -- The Denver County Court Judicial Nomination Commission is accepting applications from qualified attorneys to fill one vacancy for Denver County Court Judge. The vacancy will be created by the retirement of Judge Raymond Satter, effective the end of business June 30, 2014. Pursuant to Chief Justice Directive 00-01 and Denver County Court Executive Order issued July 25, 2012, this notifies potential applicants of Judge Satter’s intent to formally notify the Mayor and Presiding Judge of his retirement on April 1, 2014.
Applicants for the position must be qualified electors of Denver at the time of application and licensed Colorado attorneys with a minimum of five years as licensed practicing attorneys. The appointment will be for a provisional term of two years. Retention for a regular four-year term thereafter will be determined by the voters at the following biennial November General Election as prescribed by law.
The original and eight (8) copies of the completed application must be filed with the Denver County Court Presiding Judge's office no later than Friday, April 4, 2014 by 5:00 p.m. Late applications will not be considered. Applications will be kept confidential, except that the Nomination Commission shall disclose the names, work addresses, and work telephone numbers of those nominees submitted to the Mayor.
